yiz county update + bedbugs
i would say i havent been writing because life has been unfunny but in truth it is because i am spending all my energy on other pursuits.
one of them is eradicating the bedbugs from my house. i have yet to see this as a humourous task. mostly it is costly and tiresome. please give me some bed bug advice.
most of my creative energy is going into editing a music writing publication called mouthguard. it is fun to offer critical feedback on peoples work. you can read my entries under the pen name "wild oats". if you'd like to review an album for the blog, please get in touch.
lastly for uni, where i am studying art for the hell of it, i am working on an ever-expanding map of my city, starting with my neighbourhood.
i go for walks again and again through unfamiliar areas, take photos of anything interesting and go back and add them to the map. the above 9 panels took about 3 months.
i learnt that this style of overly-detailed image eg. wheres waldo/ richard scary / pieter bruegel / heironymous bosch has a name, but only in german: wimmelbilderbunch (teeming picture book).
at first the map started quite serious, and then i realised that whatever i do, it will read as unserious. still, i do take stupidity quite seriously.
and then, the other millstone round my neck is editing a friend's comedy-special video which is about 90 minutes long. they (patrick marlborough) is the most famous joker in perth aside from heath ledger whose dead. i've almost finished it. it will be good to finally throw this millstone into the river. plosh!
my problem is i dont know how to juggle this many things, and now that the bedbugs are here (technically ive had em for months but only just realised) it is all too much. i can't figure out how i'll get any of these things finished. all of them are due within the next few weeks.
but still, i am enjoying life. it is nice to be stretching every waking hour to be doing something i want to do, aside from the bedbugs.
if only bedbugs were lethal then i wouldn't have to get rid of them! ha.
