today all classes were paused to go to the seminar room and hear someone speak for five minutes about RUOK day, which ended predictably with 'and thats why its important to have mental health. please join us outside for some yummy biscuit decorating.' before i could organise two straight lines, the 48 children sprinted to the tressle table to cram handfuls of biscuits into their pockets and handfuls of marshmallows into their mouths. one boy poured a tub of pink frosting onto a girl’s head, smeared it round and dusted it over with 100s and 1000s. when the girl started to cry, the children surrounded her, chanting: RUOK! RUOK! RUOK!
